Nursery – ‘Nursery Rhymes’ week

This week we have had a brilliant time introducing the children to a variety of nursery rhymes. Many of the rhymes the children were familiar with and others were new to them. The children have particularly enjoyed learning actions to accompany many of the rhymes and they have now built up quite a repertoire. Perhaps they could entertain you with some of them!

It is also ‘road safety week’ so we watch a clip about keeping safe near roads and all about the green cross code. The children were fantastic at talking all about how to cross roads and walk to school safely.

This week we also had ‘children in need’ on Friday, the children loved coming to school in non-uniform. We talked all about children in need and raising money for others who need it. We had lots of fun playing various games and completing challenges. Our favourite activity was biscuit making where we made savoury biscuits and decorated them with healthy toppings. This activity was a firm favourite and it gave us another opportunity to talk about healthy eating and the importance of a balanced diet. Please have a look at the attached Home Learning that to find some fun activities that link to each area of your child’s learning. We would love to hear from you about your child’s home learning.
