Reception- Nursery Rhymes

This week we have had a fantastic time introducing the children to a variety of different nursery rhymes. The children have thoroughly enjoyed joining in with the singing and actions and should have built up a repertoire to entertain you with! These might include; Jack and Jill, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Humpty Dumpty, Incy Wincy Spider as well as many more.

Linking with nursery rhymes this week, we have learnt the signs for spider, on and to fall off.

We have been learning how to make our vocabulary grow. Instead of using the word ‘angry’, we learnt that we could use the words: ‘mad’, ‘cross’, ‘fuming’, and ‘furious’.

Please have a look at the Home Learning that has been attached to find some fun activities that link to each area of your child’s learning. We would love to hear from you about your child’s home learning. Please could you email these to us at: fshomelearning@exwickheights.devon.sch.uk

Just a reminder:

  • Every Tuesday and Friday your child can change their home reading book. This book will be matched to their current phonic knowledge; therefore, they should be able to read the text using their phonic skills. Please can your child bring in their book bag or school bag every day to put their books inside.

We are collecting recycled materials for our junk modelling station. Ideally we would like small boxes, washed yoghurt pots and small containers. Please can we ask that any recycled material that previously had nut products inside do not come in due to allergies that we have in school.  Please could the items be brought in a bag. Thank you
