This week we have been looking at the very well known story of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen. The children have loved to join in with the repeated refrains throughout the story.
We have been learning different words to extend our vocabulary and have learnt that instead of saying big we can say; large, huge, enormous, massive and gargantuan. We used these to change the words of the story when we were reading it. For example, “We’re going on a bear hunt. We’re going to catch a massive one”
As the weather is getting colder, we spent some time learning about the different seasons and what clothes we might need to wear. We decided we would definitely need warm clothes in the winter but would not wear a woolly hat in the summer!
Please have a look at the Home Learning that has been attached to find some fun activities that link to each area of your child’s learning. We would love to hear from you about your child’s home learning. Please could you email these to us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
A few notes:
- Bike-ability will be happening all next week. Please can we ask that your child comes into school wearing trousers, joggers or leggings to make movement easier for them. They can remain in these for the day.
- We would love to receive any recyclable material for our junk modelling station. These can include cardboard boxes, cleaned out yoghurt pots or plastic containers. Please can we ask that anything that contained nuts does not come in due to allergies.
