Nursery- The Very Hungry Caterpillar

What a busy and exciting week we have had this week! We started the week on Monday with our class photo, which was something new for us – the children were very sensible and showed us their very best big smiles for the camera.

We had our Foundation Stage sports day on Thursday, which was a wonderful event; the children were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed competing in our 5 different races all in front of a huge and very supportive crowd! Included in our races were the egg and spoon, jumping race, beanbag-balancing race and the hoop race. We also had a running race, which the children voted as their favourite! This was a brilliant event and we would like to thank you for all the support you gave the children to make the event a special one for them.

Our focus story has been the ever-popular ‘Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle, which many of the children were already familiar with. We have been talking all about the lifecycle of a caterpillar to link with the story and our class caterpillars have now grown so much and look like they are beginning to form their chrysalises! We are very excited to see ‘what happens next’.

Have a look at the attached home learning (for the week beginning 27th June) to find some fun activities that link to each area of your child’s learning. We would love to hear from you about your child’s home learning. Please could you email these to us at: fshomelearning@exwickheights.devon.sch.uk.
