Our Trust of Schools

Operation Encompass

As part of a new partnership scheme being jointly run by education and Devon and Cornwall Police, Exwick Heights Primary School will be participating in a scheme called Operation Encompass.

Operation Encompass is a scheme where the police report to a school when a child or young person has been exposed to or involved in a domestic incident.

Operation Encompass will ensure that a member of the school staff, known as a Key Adult, is trained to allow them to liaise with the police and to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, while ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have been involved in, or exposed to, a domestic abuse incident.

In our school the Key Adults are: Mrs Wills, Mrs Hackworthy and Mrs Phillips.

Domestic abuse as an incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading and violent behaviour, including sexual violence, in the majority of cases by a partner or ex-partner, but also by a family member or carer.

Please come and talk to us if you have concerns regarding this project. We will do our best to support you as a family and find the right support services to help support your family and the children.
